Central Nanaimo Parks

You could spend an entire day at Beban Park with the total activities available. There are pools, Ice Hockey Arenas, Golf Courses, off-leash dog parks, artificial turf fields, bike tracks, and soccer fields, to name a few. Beban park regularly hosts farmer's markets called Island Roots, which legendary pastry maker Georgies Pies frequents. Popular annual events such as the Vancouver Island Exposition and Nanaimo Home Owners Show are not to be missed. 

Bowen Park is one of the oldest parks in Nanaimo. The beauty of the trees, cliffs, and waterfalls takes your breath away. This park also has an outdoor pool, lawn bowling complex, and a frisbee golf course among the trees following the Millstone River. Bowen Park is where you'll also find the Nanaimo Curling Club, beach volleyball courts, and a skateboarding park.

There are two primary elementary schools in Central Nanaimo, Quarterway Elementary and Forrest Park Elementary. Both schools have excellent facilities and playgrounds and are situated in quiet neighbourhoods that are safe for your children to walk or bike to school. 

It's always best to contact the Nanaimo Ladysmith School District (SD68) to confirm which elementary school your child will attend when relocating to Central Nanaimo.
